Gaming Festival reaches playoffs

Group stage has finished in the Belgrade tournament, while along with 9 home squads, all seven of the guests made it through.

Kaspersky Gaming Festival group stage has come to an end a few minutes ago. Two teams from each of the eight groups made it through to the playoffs, while there were few surprising results.

Serbian giants BGDonLINE and DPS clinched top spots in their groups while two other local teams topped their groups somewhat surprisingly - eZone and IDZUO. eZone placed above Romanian team ArchAngels, while IDZUO defeated es.netzone to top the group.

Probably the biggest surprise of the tournament so far was IMT defeating last-minute replacement HEADSHOTBG with a result of 16:13 in Group G. However, IMT didn't capitalize on that, as they lost to iNation and a three-team mini-table was formed in which they had the worst round difference (-6). HEADSHOTBG and iNation both found themselves on +3 round difference in the triangle. The two teams agreed to throw a coin to decide who will take the first place in the group, and iNation turned out the luckier team.

The 1/8 finals will be played in best-of-one mode, and four of the matches are scheduled to start at 10:00CET. The other 4 matches will start one hour later (11:00CET), while the quarter-finals, which will be played in best-of-three mode, will begin at 12:00CET.
